Upstate Edge is a special program exclusively for Upstate nurses.

Upstate Edge offers free, flexible programming to enable Upstate nurses to earn a bachelor’s degree online in as little as four semesters or slow the progression to nine semesters. Again, at no charge to Upstate nurses.

Upstate Edge is a partnership between Upstate’s College of Nursing, the Office of the Chief Nursing Officer and Upstate University Hospital. Upstate Medical University and Upstate College of Nursing are committed to enabling nurses to meet New York’s BS-in-10 requirement while achieving academic success and a work-life balance.

What does Upstate Edge pay for?

For nurses working 81 percent full time or more, everything.

Enrollment Eligibility

Completion of prerequisite courses, those can be found here
Current and unencumbered NYS RN license
Current BLS certification
Employment status of 0.81 FTE or higher
